I knew I would be nervous when the time came, because who wouldnt be? My usual defense in this kind of situation (aka any kind of situation) is to make lots of plans, so I had em ready in spades: I imagined, as realistically as I could, how it would feel to be rejected so that the emotion wouldnt come as a shock. I told my parents that I wanted to open my decision alone so we could get the argument out of the way in advance. I googled for various rejection letters so that I would be able to recognize mine immediately and wouldnt have to keep reading as my stomach sank. I decided on a restaurant to go to (a fancy,  really  good dessert place), which would be a consolation or a celebration as needed. The day before decisions came out, I had a full day of school; afterwards, I had planned to split my time between two extracurriculars. On my way to the first one, I realized I just couldnt do it. I didnt want to do anything; I wanted to crawl into a hole and never emerge. I flagged down one of my co-presidents, told them I was feeling sick, and headed to my other extracurricular, where I proceeded to sit on the ground for an hour and then go home. At home, the first thing I did was collapse on my couch and burrow under two blankets. I had a lot of work to do that night, according to my to-do list, but I didnt manage to do any of it. Cut yourself some slack and drop a class (three cheers for Afeefah for being able to make the leap!) Home for me is where my parents live and I lived the most of my life, and every time I go I have my bed, mo bathroom, my kitchen, my house, my city, and my family and friends. Which is Colombia, more specifically Bucaramanga. Bucaramanga, my town, a place that could not fit me any better. A place where the day life is as good as night life. The weather is perfect, always hot weather with slightly cool breeze. It would never get cold. It has a complex of big buildings which its center is a complex of malls. Secure city, everybody knows each other. Bucaramanga my home, the city called â€Å"the beauty town† and also â€Å"the parks’ city†.   A city that had seen me grow up, develop, study, play golf, love, and cry, in other words everything. It has a metropo litan area shared with Floridablanca, Piedecuesta, and Giron. Which are three small towns that basically surround Bucaramanga. City with at least 10 parks, beautiful parks, where a lot of family likes to go and spend the day, eat, and enjoy the city and the nature of this parks. Mama, from â€Å"Everyday Use† is a loving single mother to her two daughters Dee and Maggie. Dee and Mama are not very close to each other; therefore, when Dee asked to have her families priceless quilts Mama said no. Mama wanted to give them to Maggie instead because Maggie would use them every day. Mama believed that even though Maggie might ruin the quilts by sleeping with them at least she would respect their family’s heritage unlike Dee. Mama is a loving character but I felt that there are many characters very similar to Mama. Mama might have been a great person but that does not make her a great protagonist. I felt that I have never experienced a character like Tessie and because of that I preferred Tessie over Mama. Tessie Hutchinson was my favorite protagonist compared to Emily Grierson and Mama. Emily was very creepy and I had no interest in her character. With Mama I sympathized for her but I felt that I have read many stories with characters similar to her.
